We offer direct billing to many insurance companies to simplify the process of accessing your mental health services. See below for a list of companies we can directly bill on clients’ behalf.
How it works:
Step 1: Verify Your Insurance Coverage
Before booking your appointment, please check your insurance policy to ensure that it covers the services you are planning to receive, as well as the designation of your therapist (psychologist, provisional psychologist, canadian certified counsellor, or MSW). We recommend contacting your insurance provider for details on coverage, as we cannot guarantee coverage.
Step 2: Provide Your Insurance Information
You will need to provide your insurance information at intake or in your client portal, including:
name of your insurance company
policy/group number
certificate number
relation of the insured to the client
DOB of the insured person
Step 3: Credit Card on File
To use our direct billing service, a credit card must be kept on file. This is necessary for managing your payments, especially if any fees are not covered by your insurance. You can securely add your credit card information through our client portal.
And now leave it to us!
We will directly bill your insurance provider for the session fees at the time of service.
More Information:
Payment Responsibility
While we will do our best to bill your insurance, please note that you are responsible for any fees incurred during your sessions. If your insurance does not cover all or a portion of the costs, your credit card will be charged for the outstanding amounts.
Receipt for Secondary Insurance
If your primary insurance does not cover any portion of your session, we will charge your credit card and provide you with a receipt. You may then submit this receipt to your secondary insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
Insurance company coverage
The chart below lists the companies we can direct bill and the therapist designations they allow for direct billing.
Insurance company policies differ. Even if your company is listed, we cannot guarantee your particular policy under that company will cover our services or the therapist designation. You are responsible for verifying coverage directly with your insurance company.
Even if direct billing is not possible with your company, you may still have coverage. We will provide receipts that you can submit yourself if this is the case.
No insurance company accepts direct billing for student therapists, and many do not for provisional psychologists. However, clients are often successful in receiving reimbursement when they submit themselves, as some companies will accept the supervisors’ qualifications.
In addition to the insurance companies below, we direct bill to:
Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
RCMP
Veteran Affairs
Edmonton Police Service
Non-Insured Health Benefits Program (NIHB)
