Philosophy
From my youngest memory, I have been endlessly captivated by human nature. Each person is remarkably unique in their life experiences, personality, and where they have come from. However, one common thread that runs through the human condition is that at some point, life presents each one of us with problems that appear insurmountable. We have all been in that position, stuck in an issue that we can’t seem to solve. It can be frustrating, debilitating, and even feel hopeless.
You are not in this alone. It can be difficult to reach out for help but doing so can be one of the most valuable decisions you may ever make. Your emotions have evolved from millions of years of deep psychological algorithms, many of them unconscious. There is a good chance that you are feeling what you feel for logical and valid reasons, even if it may not seem that way. I am here to help you make sense of how you feel, what you are going through, and what you can do about it.
My Approach
I take a person-centered and solution-focused therapeutic approach that allows you to be heard and understood with depth, non-judgment, compassion, and empathy. My methods are diverse and custom-tailored to the intricacies of each individual client I see. I draw primarily from a modality known as Informed Cognitive Therapy (ICT). Additionally, My practice is also directly influenced by traditional CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Clinical Evolutionary Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Behaviour Genetics, Esteem Dynamics, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
My Background
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist and a member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists, Psychologists' Association of Alberta, and the Canadian Psychological Association. I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology from King's University and a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle. My previous experience is in the field of public health and the non-profit sector.
I have spent years cultivating a comprehensive understanding of human nature and a vast array of solutions and treatment methodology for many of life's problems. My primary clinical interests center around anxiety and panic disorders, family conflict resolution, dating, depression and mood disorders, procrastination, process addictions, productivity, relationships, self-esteem, social-skills coaching, navigating friendship difficulties, loneliness in the modern age, men's issues, work-related challenges, and helping to increase one's standing in life's competitive processes.
I am deeply invested in helping aid those who come to me in their journey. It would be an honour for me to work alongside you. Let's make things better together!

More About My specialties
[ Open All | Close All ]Couples
Therapists often speak about poor communication being a major issue in romantic relationships for good reason. In my experience, couples are often communicating precisely with each other, but in ways that are not always inherently obvious. This can be due to cognitive biases, blind spots, difficulty facing the truth, or obstacles getting in the way of driving down to the heart of the matter. Non-verbal behaviour has been estimated to account for upwards of 90% of what is being communicated in human interactions (Mehrabian, 2016). As a therapist, I see my role as being an effective, gentle, and kind translator. This allows the couple to become crystal clear with one another in order to improve their relational dynamics. One of the most gratifying parts of the job is to play a role in helping facilitate healthier and happier romantic dynamics and to aid couples in determining what they want individually, and as a unit. In my work with couples, I treat the relationship between the two of you as my client.
Teens
This is not everyone's experience, as the teen years can be a wonderful time in our lives. However, the process of growing up is host to many potential complicated feelings, challenges, isolation, and confusion. The entirety of the experience, both positive and negative, can be overwhelming. In my counselling practice with teens, my goal is to be the therapist I wish that I'd had during my own youth, a beacon of light and clarity to bring a semblance of order to the chaos of becoming a young adult and carving out your unique identity. I am here to support you through these challenging times in an unbiased and nonjudgmental way. I strive to be a source of normalization and relief for difficult challenges, feelings, and socially competitive processes. I cherish my work with young adults, as they are some of the most interesting and remarkable souls I encounter in my practice.
